Growing up my grandfather was an inspiration. I recall seeing his pictures covering the walls in our home. Photography has an uncanny way of capturing "probable impossibility" by testing the limits of our reality. Can we expose the world that lay beyond our senses and capture the spirit of the moment? There are many things I have become aware of in life through the eye of a lens. Things that let me see things clearer in people, places, and myself. At the age of 10, I knew I wanted to be an artist, a doctor or an archeologist. Although these professions are very different, my process is creative and satisfies my inquisitive mind. I have expressed my creativity through many mediums including drawing, painting and ceramics among others. My early work was reflected in realistic portrayals of subjects, mostly people, specializing in pen and ink drawings. Being mindful of the “big picture” allows me to grasp a broader view visually of an idea, concept or moment that keeps my work simple. My goals in photography, as well as in graphic and web design, are to continue to learn and experience. I believe it is crucial to my creativity and business to stay up to date on enhancing and developing my talent, whether it is an art class or software class. I am also a graphic and web designer that works independently with local designers and developers. To review my other work please visit my site at Dragonfly Design. Cheers! Rachel Barner
